Lake Victoria is the second largest fresh water lake in the world after Lake Superior in North America. The lake rests in three East African countries namely Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Lake Victoria is the source of the Great River nile which originates in the part of the lake that is in Uganda. It is Africa’s largest tropical lake with a volume of approximately 68,800 square kilometers. The lake was discovered by John Hanning Speke in 1958 and was named after Englands Queen Victoria. The lake is rich in aquarium life full of fish; tilapia fish, Nile perch and various marine life plants, bird life is in plenty. Amazing tourism activities like boat rides, spot fishing and visiting various islands on the lake is achieved while on tour to the great lake.
